What We Do
Community Engagement
We bring people together with community events to celebrate the diverse cultures of immigrants in Hampton Roads. We also uplift immigrant stories, such as the refugee experience, living undocumented, or the brutal migrant detention system. Through various initiatives, we foster a sense of solidarity, belonging, and community.
Advocacy & Education
We advocate for policies that benefit various immigrant communities, including asylum seekers, agricultural workers, and refugees. We also celebrate the achievements of immigrants and increase the visibility of these vibrant communities. Lastly, we are raising awareness about the issues impacting immigrant communities and mobilizing people to take action.
Direct Support
We provide direct support to newcomers independently and through collaboration with local non-profits; we raise funds and hold donation drives to gather essential items for newly arrived immigrants and refugees. We also volunteer to help with existing drives and events organized by our partner organizations.
